Do you offer concession rates?
No, sorry. All Tours are on a per seat basis.
What should I bring with me on the bus tour?
• Day pack
• Water bottle
• Sun hat and sunscreen
• Warm, weatherproof jacket
• Good shoes or boots for walking
• Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Please note that Tasmanian weather can famously change very quickly so we highly recommend bringing along a few layers even on a sunny summer day!
Is food and drink included in the tour?
We don’t supply lunch, snacks or beverages on our tours but we do stop along the way for you to purchase food to suit budget and taste. This is usually a bakery stop in a regional town along the way to the main destination for the day. You will then be able to enjoy a lunch stop in one of the stunning rest stops. You are also welcome of course to bring along a packed lunch to enjoy on the day. If you have special dietary requirements it may be better to bring your own prepared lunch /snacks.
Do I need to reconfirm my tour?
We recommend you reconfirm your tour and pick-up location and time directly with us, between 24 – 48hrs before your tour departs. It is always a good idea to check we have the correct hotel and tour date details and that yours and our details match. Please call 03 6458 3434 to chat with us.
What time do pick-ups commence?
All our tours depart the city by 7.30am. Our first pick up is at 7.00am. Your pick up time will be confirmed on booking depending on your hotel or hostel location in the CBD. Call 1800 777 103 if the driver has not arrived within 10 minutes of your pick up time so we can ensure your collection and your tour with us runs smoothly.
How much luggage can I bring onboard the bus?
On the bus you are welcome to bring along 1 day bag with a limit of 7kg on board the vehicle.
All our Active Day Tours include one or more of the Great Short Walks of Tasmania – from short walks of 30mins return to longer, more strenuous walks of 4hrs +. Your walks will be fully guided by our expert staff on clearly marked and well graded tracks. A small number of optional extended walks are available under the instruction of our guides who will best determine the conditions of the day and appropriateness to the guest’s fitness level. To review options available to you please talk to your guide directly on the bus before embarking. We ask that you respect the timeframes of our tours and the experience of fellow passengers so walking deadlines are essential to meet.
What are the weather conditions like in Tasmania?
The weather on the Tasman Peninsula is famously varied, with four distinct seasons (sometimes all occurring in one day!). Daily maximum temperatures in summer (December to February) are between +20 to +30 degrees celsius. In winter (June to August) daily maximums are between +8 to +16 degrees celsius.
What sort of vehicle will I be travelling in on tour?
We have a variety of buses in our fleet, ranging from 13 seater Toyota Hi-Ace Commuter model vehicles to 18 seater Toyota Coaster buses. All of our buses are fully air conditioned/heated.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
We will charge:
30 Days – 14 days before departure 25% of tour or package price. 13 days – 48hrs before departure 50% of tour or package price. Within 48hrs or

Are there any Booking Conditions I should be aware of?
TRAVEL INSURANCE: Although every effort is made, Scenic Flight Booker and the Tour Operators shall not be liable for any illness, injury, damages, loss or delay that may occur due to factors beyond our control. We highly recommend all passengers have travel insurance coverage.
TOURS PRICES AND ITINERARY: The Tour Operators retain the right to alter itineraries, fares and may cancel tours in unforeseen circumstances. When conditions create a change of itinerary whilst on tour, we utilise our local knowledge and alternate itinerary plans, we do not offer refunds in these cases. If the tour fails to depart Hobart passengers will be refunded in full. All our tour prices are in Australian dollars.
Do I need to pay for my trip in full at time of booking?
Yes, our tours are very popular due to their amazing itineraries and competitive rates, so we can only reserve seats once we’ve received payment in full.
Is the tour appropriate for children?
Our tours are generally designed for adults, however if you feel your children will mix with the group of international and local travellers of a variety of ages, then we will trust your judgement. Children under 8 years are not recommended however.
What can I bring into Tasmania and take out?
Tasmania has some of the world’s most stringent quarantine regulations. Please help us retain Tasmania’s disease-free status by ensuring that when you visit us you are not carrying or importing any restricted items. The introduction of a pest or disease into a production area can result in expensive controls being implemented and loss of markets, which can cost primary industries and the community millions of dollars. What can I bring with me onboard the helicopter?
On your flight you will be permitted to take only your camera (or phone). All other items and
bags can be left in the office for collection at the end of your flight.
Why do you ask for my body weight when I make a booking?
Our helicopters have limited payload they can lift so for the safety of all guests and crew we
need to know accurately what the total weight of our aircraft is. This also helps us in planning
refuelling requirements for the helicopter. Individual guests in excess of 110kg will be required to pay for an additional seat as we will be required to restrict further seats on the aircraft.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We like to keep you informed about the weather and give you options. If a decision is made in advance about the weather you will have the option of amending your tour to visit the Port Arthur Lavender farm or Tasmanian Devil Unzoo in lieu of your flight. If the decision not to fly is made without warning, you will be visiting the beautiful Port Arthur Lavender Farm in lieu.
Don’t worry, the helicopter component of your fare ($145) will be refunded in these circumstances.
Will I get motion sick?
Helicopters are aircraft (oh yeah?) and they do sometimes move around and experience turbulence just like any other. In saying this, they are usually a lot smoother in flight than a fixed-wing aircraft which ‘rides the bumps’. The big windows, airflow and distractingly good views keep most people feeling A-OK. We do have sick bags on board just in case though!
