Located on the South Coast of Western Australia, Esperance is a beach and nature lover’s dream. With the nearby Cape Le Grand National Park boasting 2 of the Whitest Sand Beaches in Australia, the contrast with the Turquoise Ocean is something to truly behold.
Long Cherished by the local Aboriginal Ngadju people, the Esperance Region is part of Nyungar Country.
First charted in 1792 by Captain Huon De Kermadec on the Le’Esperance, for which the town is named, Europeans didnt settle the area until the mid 1800s when the Dempster Family took out Crown Leases on the Area for farming.
Now a host to many different industries such as Agriculture, Fishing, Mining, Tourism and Export, the Esperance town has grown to a population of just over 12000.
The best way to experience Esperance is without doubt a Scenic Flight. You will take in the magical vistas of Recherche Archipelago, Lucky Bay, the recently voted World’s Best Beach and the beautiful Pink and Rainbow Coloured Lakes of the area. Flying over the windswept plains and beautiful beaches of Cape Le Grand and Cape Arid National Parks, you will get an idea of the tough life the early settlers must have endured.
